Les nids géants de Benjamin Verdonck m'évoquent un peu le travail de Lauraellen Bacon dont je vous avait parlé il y a un petit moment. Sans doute aussi un peu de Patrick Dougherty, non ?Some giant nests like those from Lauraellen Bacon or Patrick Dougherty, no ?
Thorncrown Chapel
Thorncrown était le rêve de JIm Reed, natif de Pine Bluff, Arkansas. En 1971, Jim achète ce terrain pour y bâtir sa propre maison. Beaucoup de gens s'arrêtent pour profiter de la magnifique vue qu'offre le site. Au lieu de clôturer son terrain, Jim commence à inviter les promeneurs à y entrer. C'est ainsi qu'avec sa femme, il décida plutôt de bâtir là une chapelle en verre dont tout le monde pourrait profiter.Depuis, on y célèbre des mariages bucoliques (voir gâteau).Thorncrown was the dream of Jim Reed, a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In 1971 Jim purchased the land which is now the site of the chapel to build his retirement home. However, other people admired his location and would often stop at his property to gain a better view of the beautiful Ozark hills. Instead of fencing them out, Jim decided to invite them in. One day while walking up the hill to his house, the idea came to him that he and his wife should build a glass chapel in the woods to give wayfarers a place to relax in an inspiring way.

Thailande flottante
"...Le jour suivant, je suis parti tôt, accompagné par un touriste allemand intéressé qui avait payé la moitié du tarif. La promenade fut magnifique. Nous avons vu la façon de vivre des thaïlandais dans le Delta: des habitations entassées durant des kilomètres, des bateaux-taxis causant une circulation intense, des stations service flottantes, des gens, des ateliers et des boutiques les pieds dans l’eau.Des dômes innombrables et des petits temples étaient seulement reliés à la terre grâce à des passerelles. Tout cela créait une ambiance spéciale.
