Cold

The weather si so cold with a freezing siberian wind . We hope that our koi caps and the fern trees will survive.

Make sure tht there is a constant opening in the pond ice. Otherwise poisonouis gases build up and kill off thekoi. Careful not to smash the ice as the concussion can kill koi too. A little hot water poured onthe ice to melt throw and create an opening. Read your nlog every day - thanks for posting. J

Extremely cold weather is not fun. I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. We are having the opposite problem -- a winter with warm temperatures and little snow. I would rather have some of your cold temperatures, if only to help your koi. But I think that they can survive the temperatures that I see are expected in Paris.
