In 1962 Robert Tatin, with his wife Lise, bought a small, old house 'La Frénouse' in the commune of Cossé-le-Vivien, Mayenne. He sees his 'house of the fields' to be a monumental work rooted in nature, which would serve as the crossroads for all civilisations through the creation of a universal language, 'a bridge between the east and the west'. Soon the first painted cement sculptures appear in what he called 'the garden of meditation' which is the heart of the museum.
Very interesting place to visit :)
